Houdini is the famous magician from long ago. Thought to be dead he actually transported himself to the Overlap via intense concentration. In the Overlap he met various beings learned how to use true "magic".
He became an agent of the The Prime and has the ability of longevity and inter-dimensional travel.
He was sent to lure Spawn to an atomic convention where demons from the Overlap would try to kill him and see if an Atomic Bomb explosion would kill Demons.
When he taught Spawn about Magic and the power of Hellspawn, he said that magic is creating a lie that the universe believes.
